About the author
S.T. Carnell
Author and Co-Founder, SEJO
S.T. Carnell is a Kansas City-based storyteller, video producer, and father of four boys who has spent years watching what competitive sports does to young athletes and the families who love them — including his own.
He made the same mistake three times. Rose-colored glasses. Best clubs. Private coaches. Made winning more important than it should have been. And somewhere along the way he started seeing it more clearly.
SEJO and The Beyond Series came from that. Not from a research study or a professional credential — from a dad who got it wrong, learned to see it differently, and cared enough to write it down honestly.
Seth is a three-time Emmy-nominated editor and the founder of Orange Hat Films. He has spent his career telling stories that move people — for nonprofits, national media organizations, and causes he believes in. SEJO is the most personal thing he has built.
He lives in the Kansas City area with his wife and their four boys, who remain his greatest teachers and his best material.
